We are passionate about promoting the magic of the natural world to children and adults a like.

We aim to develop a connection between people and the natural spaces that surround them.

We believe that stories are a vital way to connect to the other than human beings we share this precious world with.

I’m Sarah, I created Forest Bees in 2018.

At that time I was a primary school teacher in a wonderful school in Banbury, Oxfordshire. I loved working with the children and inspiring staff but I was beginning to feel stifled in the classroom environment. I trained to become a Level 3 Forest School leader with Everdon Outdoor Learning Centre and haven’t looked back since.

I left my classroom role in August 2019 and joined the Everdon team as my ‘day job'. Forest Bees has been running since then, offering Family Forest School experiences (until COVID stopped us in 2020) as well offering activities at craft fairs, and going into schools to run sessions on their own sites.

My ambition is to make the Forest School experience available to as many children and families as possible. Connecting to the land we live in through stories is important to me. Children and adults can benefit from a rich oral and written literature when outside. This can help us to understand and develop a relationship with the place we call home. I am passionate about the preservation and creation of wild nature and wish to share this passion as widely as possible.
